Lake Garda - Lake Maggiore - Lake Como - Alba -

Barolo - Sanremo - Italian and French Riviera

This tour takes you through creations of different kinds, from the classical gardens of Lake Garda, Lake Como and Lake Maggiore to the mythical gardens of the Italian and French Riviera. We will travel through the wine region of Langhe e Barolo for a Cooking Class and several Wine Tasting tours. One day is set aside to shop for discounted designer Brands like Prada and D&G at Serravalle  Scrivia, the largest Shopping Outlet in Europe.

 

Day 1: Arrival in Venice Airport

Transfer from Venice Airport to Verona

Day 2

Morning: Padua at Leisure

The town is clean and quiet, since only a few commercial vehicles are allowed on the inner city roads.  Otherwise, it is mainly scooters, bicycles and pedestrians using the narrow streets in this city. 

   

Afternoon: Valsanzibio Gardens Tour

An Italian garden, box hedges, lemon trees, sculpture, pools and fountains, and you have an impression of Valsanzibio' Gardens. The baroque gardens have seventy statues, cascades, fountains and water features.

 

Day 3

Morning: Sirmione at Leisure

Sirmione is the best known resort on Lake Garda and is located at the far end of a long, narrow peninsula. The entrance to the centre is dominated by the castle which is accessible to public.

   

Afternoon: Andre Heller Botanic Garden Tour

Formerly known as the Giardino Hruska Botanico, the Andre Heller Botanic Garden was made by a dentist and naturalist after 1901. It has a mild climate and an extensive plant collection. 

 

Day 4

Morning: Gardens and Villa Balbianello Tour

The splendid gardens on the promontory are the perfect place to take the pictures of the most important day in your life. Villa del Balbianello has something special that captures your heart and will never leave it.

   

Afternoon: Villa d'Este Gardens Tour

Visitors enjoy a blend of two styles, the Italian and the Picturesque. Examples of Italian garden features are the perspective avenue which ascends from the Nymphaeum to the sculpture of Hercules and Lica.

 

Day 5

Morning: Isola Madre Garden Tour

Particularly famous for its azalea, rhododendron, and camellia blossoms but also for the pergolas of ancient wisteria, for the Cashmere Cyprus and for the espaliers of citrons and lemons.

   

Afternoon: Isola Bella Garden Tour

The gardens form an extraordinary, flowered monument laid out over a series of ornate and overlapping terraces, a classic and inimitable example of seventeenth century "Italian garden".

 

Day 6

Morning: Excursion to Alba

A visit to the fascinating medieval old town of Alba, the capital of the Langhe, with its historic centre rich in towers, fortified buildings and Romanesque and Gothic monuments.

   

Afternoon: Visit Castle Grinzane with Wine Tasting

One of the oldest and most important castles in the Langhe, Grinzane Cavour offers its visitors a stupendous scenic lookout point with a panorama of rolling vineyards.

 

Day 7

Morning: Shopping at Serravalle Scrivia Designer Outlet Serravalle Designer Outlet is the largest factory Outlet Centre in Europe, with 180 stores, which representing an unequalled portfolio of prestigious brands: Prada, D&G, Versace, Valentino, Armani and much more.

   

Afternoon: Cooking Class with Dinner in Tagliolo Castle

Pisa, the ultimate Tuscan day trip. Millions of people descend annually on the Leaning Tower and its neighbouring architectural miracles on Campo dei Miracoli square.

 

Day 8

Morning: Sanremo

Capital town of the Italian Riviera of Flowers. Its artistic heritage, permeated by that typically Ligurian shyness, which escapes from any focus of attention, is still largely unknown.

   

Afternoon: La Mortola Hanbury Botanical Gardens

The Hanbury Gardens are situated at La Mortola on the border of Ventimiglia. The gardens are characterized by herbaceous, shrubby and arboretums plants from tropical and sub­tropical places all over the world.

 

Day 9

Morning: Visit Jardin botanique exotique du Val Rahmeh A magnificent collection of  "Labiacées" and "Solanacées" and a large number of exotic fruit plants. There is also a "Sophora Toromiro" a very rare sacred tree from Easter Island, which is in full bloom.

   

Afternoon: Menton, French Riviera at Leisure

With an exceptionally mild climate and 316 days of sunshine a year, Menton is a paradise for botanists and garden lovers. The sub-tropical species flourish and grow at ease in Menton.

 

Day 10
