Umbria sits in the very center of Italy, not far from Rome and right next door to Tuscany.  A Region of incredible contrasts, from the luxurious farmlands along the fabled Tiber River to the rugged Apennines, Umbria dazzles and delights.  This tour will take you through its incredible landscapes and into its storied cities.

Afternoon: Castel of Magione and Wine Tasting Tour

Dated back to 1150-1170, the Castle was a shelter for pilgrims going to Rome or to the Jerusalem. Its farm covers an area of 1325 hectares and the vineyards are placed in the DOC district of "Trasimeno hills".

Day 3

Perugia was among the most important cities of the Etruscans. The town dominates the Tiber Valley from a high, irregular and rough hill.

Afternoon: Assisi Visit

The town of Assisi which takes its name from Mount Asi, on which it is situated, lies in the centre of the province of Umbria, about halfway between the cities of Perugia and Foligno, and 41 miles north of Rome.

Day 4

Morning: Spoleto Guided Tour

The town sits on the terraced slopes of the Apennines, at the end of a long, fertile valley.  Spoleto had probable Etruscan influences but was Romanized during the Sannitic wars. Afternoon: at Leisure.

This ancient town picturesquely sits on a large, flat outcropping with sheer cliffs. Orvieto, while no secret, is worth a good day of sightseeing.

The little walled city of Bevagna is one of the most attractive places of central Umbria, in the plain of the Topino River about 8 km W of Foligno.
