Colorful sunsets, fresh fish, breathtaking views on the bays and village houses that are built like puzzles. That is what Amalfi Coast looks like from the perspective of this tour. And what does it taste like?

Well, you can see that for yourself at first with the arrival at the iconic Naples market for fresh fish, vegetables, cheese and warm loaves of bread in the morning. As soon as you have all that you need, the wonderful Amalfi Coast cooking experience can begin, with a visit on the best cooking classes with traditional Neapolitan foods, perfectly spiced and sliced into different shapes and sizes.

Your custom cooking classes in Naples, Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius will also show you the delicacy of the southern Italian wine, accompanied by another magnificent tour - the Sorrento Hills Olive Oil and Mozzarella Tour, where you will learn the secrets of Italy's bestselling cheese.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Naples Arrival - Sorrento | Welcome to Italy! Upon arrival at Naples airport please proceed to collect your luggage inside the customs area. Meet your driver and transfer to Sorrento. Rest of the Day at Leisure. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 02: Naples Market, Cooking Class & Private Walking Tour | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver at the lobby and transfer to Naples. The marketplace wakes up early in the morning and the Chef will lead you through the hustle and bustle as the fresh fish arrives at the dock, vendors stock rows and rows of fresh fruits and vegetables arriving from the countryside, the cheesemonger hangs the cacciocavallo cheese, and bakers take the first batches of fresh loaves of bread out of the oven. Then return to the kitchen for your hands-on Cooking Class featuring traditional Neapolitan foods with the Chef's modern touch, including fresh pasta kneaded, rolled and sliced into all different shapes, fresh traditional sauces, meat, fish or vegetarian main courses and fabulous desserts. Menus vary by season to use the best fresh ingredients and can be tailored to accommodate food allergies and diet needs. Lunch follows with the foods prepared in class and a glass of local wine paired by the sommelier included. After lunch it is time to embark on a 3-hour private guided walking tour of the heart of Naples. Visit the Galleria Umberto with it's immense vaulted-glass ceiling, the Piazza Plebiscito, this vast piazza was inspired by Saint Peter's in Rome. We suggest a stop at the Neapolitan landmark cafa for a pastry and cappuccino or a short and steaming Neapolitan espresso served in delicate hand-painted china. Continue to the shops of the cafa lined Via Toledo, visit the famous San Gregorio Armeno also known as the Via dei Presepi, street of the nativities. This quarter of this ancient city is filled with botteghe and bancarelle, with the most intricate, beautiful characters and full nativity scenes. Late afternoon return to your hotel. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 03: Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius with Wine Tasting and Lunch | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver at the lobby for a full day excursion to Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius. On August 24th, 79 AD, the explosion of Mount Vesuvius, an explosion of lava, ash, gas, pumice and lapillus that destroyed everything in Pompeii, and then it has been buried for more than 1000 years. After Pompeii, travel towards Mount Vesuvius to Vini Vesuvus, a family owned winery on the slopes of Vesuvius. Tour the vineyards followed by a tasting of three wines; white, red and rose' and a light lunch including varieties of sausages, cheeses, biscotti, olives and seasonal vegetables plus Vesuvian oil and bruschette and desert accompanied with the dessert wine, Passito. After lunch proceed to Mt. Vesuvius, the mountain formed 25,000 years ago that has erupted many times in prehistory and since 79 AD is believed to have erupted 42 more times, the last recorded in 1944. It's still active and one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, mostly because 3,000,000 people are living in the immediate area. Late afternoon return to your hotel. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 04: Sorrento Hills Olive Oil and Mozzarella Tour| Breakfast at the Hotel. Your private tour today will start with a visit to an extra virgin olive oil farm. Enjoy a demonstration on the production of Olive Oil from the olive on the tree to the bottle. Followed by a delicious tasting of this fine Extra Virgin Olive Oil on freshly baked bread. On your way to the next stop, the mozzarella and cheese makers, we stop for a fantastic photo opportunity over the two bay's, the bay of Salerno and the bay of Naples, for a bird's eye view of the famous Amalfi Drive. You will be welcomed with open arms by the family at the cheese farm, who have over 50 years of experience. After touring the farm, watch the making of mozzarella (a cheese that originated from the Naples area), participate in a wonderful explanation of the entire process up to the final product, which you will taste with lunchaSit back and relax with antipasto of local 'in season' vegetables, salami then followed by freshly made pasta. Tasting the fresh mozzarella you have just witnessed being made. Lunch is served with local wine and soft drinks, followed by Limoncello. Then continue your private tour with a Wine tasting at a local winery, with full demonstration, visit to the cellar and tasting of up to 9 wines. The tour ends in the heart of Sorrento for Italy's famous GELATO. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 05: Sorrento - Positano - Ravello - Amalfi | Breakfast at the Hotel. Private Transfer to your Hotel on the Amalfi Coast. On route enjoy several location visits on one of the most intriguing coastline in the world. Visit the villages of Amalfi, Ravello and Positano. The small houses all huddling on top of each other, the breathtaking cliffs, the lemon and olive trees, the small beaches, the Saracen watch towers, the narrow roads make of this place a unique in the world, so precious to be listed in the Unesco World Heritage. Stop for lunch at a characteristic Amalfi Restaurant before reaching your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight on the Amalfi Coast.

Day 06: Amalfi Coast Vineyards | Breakfast at the Hotel. Spend a special day wandering among vineyards and wine cellars on The Amalfi Coast, sampling white wines rich in sweet bouquets while feeling the cool breeze off the blue Mediterranean Sea sparkling below. The Amalfi coast is the pride and joy of the hospitable, friendly people who live and work this land and have preserved its traditions for centuries. Today's Amalfi Wine Tour begins with a visit to one of the best cellars on the Amalfi coast, taking pride in the denomination Costa D'Amalfi. You will tour the Amalfi vineyard with a guide who will explain how the grapes are grown and harvested on these steep hillsides, and will then show you the cellars and explain how the wines are made. A guided tasting will give you an insight into the estates production and the wines of Amalfi. You will have a chance to visit a nearby village and have lunch at a delicious osteria featuring mouth watering fresh-caught seafood. In the afternoon a visit to another estate will help you further understand these unique wines and bring your relaxing day to a close. Overnight on the Amalfi Coast.

Day 07: Amalfi Coast - Capri & Limoncello Tour - Amalfi Coast | Breakfast at the Hotel. Today, visit of Capri with guide. Capri is an enchanting and picturesque island made of limestone rock. A favorite with Roman emperors, the rich and famous, artists, and writers, it's still one of the Mediterranean's must-see places. Since the second half of the 19th century, Capri has gradually become one of the most popular resorts in southern Italy, famous for its magnificent scenery and the mild climate. Lunch and Limoncello Making demonstration. During our one-hour demonstration you will learn how to make Capri's favorite lemon 'digestivo' from start to finish. You choose and pick the lemons from the property's lemon trees and your host and/or hostess will instruct you through every step. Once completed, enjoy tasting the finished product. Late afternoon return to your Hotel on the Amalfi Coast.

Day 08: Amalfi Coast - Naples Airport | Breakfast at the Hotel. Arrivederci. Ciao! Enjoy a Private Transfer to Naples Airport.

  • We have just returned from our trip to Italy since we took a cruise after the program you and I put together. I just wanted to let you know that everything you planned worked out perfectly. Both hotels were excellent and the rooms were fine. All the drivers were on time and got us to our destinations promptly. We were especially glad to have someone meet us at the train station with the tickets in hand and directions to our car in Milan. The best part of the trip was the all day private boat trip in Bellagio with the great restaurant on the private island. So thanks for your help and hopefully we can do it again.
