And that is exactly how this tour begins - with a private guided visit of Rome and the nearby places of Montepulciano, Montalcino and Chianti.
The tour continues with a visit of the magnificent cathedrals and churches in the small UNESCO site of San Gimignano, as well as Siena and the Chianti area where you will enjoy one of the best food and wine tasting events during the tour.

Day 01: Rome Arrival | Welcome to Italy! Upon arrival at Rome airport please proceed through the Passport Control and collect your luggage inside the customs area. Private transfer to your hotel in Roma. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the Eternal City. Overnight in Rome.
Day 02: Private Guided Vatican Tour | After Breakfast meet your driver at the Hotel lobby to be transferred to the Vatican. Here meet your Private Guide for an afternoon Vatican Private Guided tour. The first part of your tour focuses on the Renaissance period during which the Sistine Chapel, Raphael Rooms and Saint Peter’s Basilica were built. Here we will spend plenty of time to absorb the atmosphere of this unique building. Our guide will also tell you about the Popes of Rome, their enclave and the fascinating story of how they are elected to office. You will learn about the life and times of Michelangelo, his relationship with Pope Julius II and relive how he worked and lived. You will then move onto visit Saint Peter’s Basilica – the world’s most famous and largest Church. This morning you will be introduced to Italian cuisine, begins with a fresh cannolo made in front of you, while sipping on a cappuccino. You will be transported back to the days of the Caesars and the Roman legions as you visit, together with your private local guide. This tour begins with a visit to the most famous monument of Ancient Rome - the Colosseum. We take you inside, skipping the long lines, and explain the history of the arena and the events that took place here, while you stand on the same spot as emperors, gladiators and the Roman mob. From here, your guide will take you through the Roman Forum, which was the center of politics as well as public life in Ancient Rome. Your guide will explain in detail how Romans spent their daily lives coming and going from the Forum and will point out the areas in which notable historical events took place: including Julius Caesar's funeral, when Marc Antony delivered his famous eulogy. Leave the Roman Forum behind to then visit the Circus Maximus, site of Ben Hur style races. The Circus Maximus was occasionally used for events such as processions or gladiator combats, but on most days only chariot races with quadrigas, pulled by four horses, were held here. The races themselves were wildly popular with people fanatically supporting one of the four factions: red, white, green and blue representing summer, winter, spring and autumn respectively. Bets were laid on one of the factions and supporters of the different factions often clashed, sometimes resulting in deaths among the spectators. Overnight in Rome.
Day 04: Rome - Montepulciano - Montalcino - Chianti | In the morning, meeting with the driver and departure to Chianti. The drive itself is a magnificent path along the roads of Tuscany, where it is possible to enjoy the view of hills covered by vineyards, olives tree, small villages and original bell towers. En route stop in Montepulciano and Montalcino: visit of the small medieval villages, famous for its wine and the beautiful landscape. Lunch and wine tasting at Azienda Tornesi. Arrival in Chianti late afternoon. Overnight in Chianti.
Day 05: San Gimignano and Siena Private Guided Tour | After breakfast at the Hotel, meet your driver and guide in the lobby. San Gimignano, a fantastic example of medieval architecture declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, famous for its medieval skyscrapers. These tower houses were built by local families at the height of the Guelph-Ghibelline conflict. As you stroll around this compact hill town, your Private Guide will introduce you to the life & times of Medieval San Gimignano. You will begin your tour from San Gimignano main gate, where the medieval city walls are still completely visible. During your walk, you will stop at Torre Cugnanesi and then continue to the two main squares: the first one named after the cistern located at its center, the second where political and religious institutions are located and the little market square: Piazza delle Erbe. The Duomo in San Gimignano is one of the few churches in Italy that are entirely decorated with frescoes, it was used as a film location a few years ago, for Tea with Mussolini by the famous movie director Franco Zeffirelli. Day 06: Montalcino & Montepulciano Private Food and Wine Tour | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver/guide at the Hotel Lobby. Today, you will taste some of the most famous Italian wines: Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. You will first visit Montalcino. This ancient village is best known for its red Brunello di Montalcino wines, made with Sangiovese Grosso grapes. The town has scarcely changed in appearance since the 16th century. Once you get up to the town, a magnificent spectacle unfolds for your eyes: rolling sunny hills dotted with yellow and red flowers, ancient oak trees, picturesque olive groves, scenic country roads winding through perfect vineyards and isolated cypress trees atop hills. You will have a private visit to a Brunello producer such as the prestigious Poggio Antico estate. On the way to the winery, you can stop for a quick visit of the stunning ruins of the 9th century Abbazia di Sant'Antimo. At the winery, you will tour the cellars, the vineyards and take in the gorgeous views and taste Brunello "Riserva" and Rosso di Montalcino. After your Montalcino visit it is time to be introduced to Montepulciano Area with a fabulous lunch at a top estate such as Valdipiatta or Avignonesi to be followed by tasting of Vino Nobile wines. Continue your afternoon with a visit to Montepulciano, a small village of Etruscan origin and one of the most beautiful hill towns in Tuscany. The façades of the church of Saint Agostino and of the Oratorio della Misericordia are worth seeing. Notable among the civic buildings are the Tarugi palace, the Mercato, the Contucci palace designed by Sangallo and the fourteenth-century Palazzo Municipale, which contains a small gallery of Sienese and of Umbrian art. Day 08: Florence Private Guided Tour | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your Guide at the Hotel Lobby. Follow your guide along the windy pathways to a stop in Piazza del Duomo. Be awed as you take in the glory of the Duomo (Cathedral of Santa Maria dei Fiori). Marvel at the intricacy of the pink, white and green marble that covers the exterior, then gaze up at the striking cupola. Day 09: Pisa and Lucca Private Guided Tour |Breakfast at the Hotel. This morning meet your driver and guide at the Hotel Lobby. You will travel along the banks of the River Arno, flanked by elegant Renaissance Palaces and Churches, like the splendid gothic facade of Santa Maria Della Spina.
