This tour offers you a three-coastal experience over the coasts of Sorrento, Amalfi and Cilento. What it offers is a ten-day luxury experience in the civilized old towns of Sorrento, amazing historic tours in Pompeii, Mt. Vesuvius and Herculaneum and tons of fine dining experiences in picturesque places like Positano, Capri and the Amalfi Coast.

You can take a dip into the blue waters of Italy, taste the classic Italian limoncello and see where it is made or explore the Palinuro caves as some of the oldest and most preserved caves in Italy founded by the Greek colonies. Also, you can see the unique stories that each of these three coasts have and find out more about their tradition, culture and history.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Naples Arrival and Private Transfer to Sorrento | Welcome to Italy! Upon arrival at Naples airport you will be greeted by our Representative who will welcome you to Naples. He or she will escort out of the Terminal: your private driver will transfer you to your Hotel in Sorrento. The rest of the day is at leisure. An unashamed resort, Sorrento is still a civilized old town. Even the souvenirs are a cut above the norm, with plenty of fine old shops selling ceramics, lacework and intarsio (Inlaid Wood Work) – famously produced here. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 02: Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius Private Guided Tour | Breakfast at the Hotel. Your driver and guide will meet you at the hotel ready to take you through the most significant archaeological sites of Naples Bay, Pompeii and Herculaneum. In the first century AD the Roman Empire had many cities, but none located in a more beautiful setting than those lining the Bay of Naples. Pompeii was buried under lava and ash from Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD and lay forgotten for hundreds of years. With its public baths, amphitheater, Roman temples and brothels, a tour of Pompeii is like a journey into the past. After the visit you will reach the most important winemaker of Lachrima Christi, located just few hundred metres below the peak of the Volcano Vesuvius. Here you will have a classical Italian lunch that includes bruschette with fresh tomatoes and olive oil served with salami and cheeses. Then, spaghetti will be served with little hill cherry tomatoes, accompanied by two different red wines. After lunch time you will drive 30 more minutes until you the Ancient Herculaneum. Dating back to the 4th century BC, the city was thought to have been founded by the legendary Hercules. This elite Roman resort was devastated by the same volcanic eruption that buried Pompeii in 79 AD. Herculaneum was covered by a torrent of mud, which protected the ruins from atmospheric agents and illegal excavators. You will visit the Suburban Baths, the House of the Deers, the Augustales Temple, the Palestra, the House of Neptune and Amphitrite, the House of the Pretty Courtyard, the House of the Wooden Partition Wall, the Bicentenary House, the area of The Marina, where in 1980 archeologist found over 250 skeletons of fugitives. At the end of tour, your driver will take you back to your Hotel. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 03: Day at Leisure or *Optional Tour: Sorrento Peninsula Villages Tour and Terranova Farm | Breakfast at the Hotel. Spend an amazing morning in a wonderful farmhouse. The Terranova Farm is a farmhouse holiday spot in Sorrento situated near the “Le Tore” nature reserve, in Santa Agata dei Due Golfi. The farm occupies six acres of land, distributed amongst a staircase of terraces which all descend harmoniously towards the sea. Facing you will be the enchanting Li Galli and Vetara Islands where legend has it that Ulysses met beautiful mermaid creatures. Surrounding you will also be the colors and scents of the Mediterranean. Upon arrival you will be welcomed by the owner for refreshments before taking a stroll around the grounds to admire the fresh produce. Depending on the fruits and vegetables in season, you will be free to pick some provisions for lunch. You will then enjoy a hands-on cooking demonstration where you will be shown the skills of mozzarella making, as well as creating the perfect pizza (southern style!). Lunch will include fresh farm produce. In the afternoon continue your tour through the villages and towns of Sorrento Peninsula: Nerano Village and Marina del Cantone, Massa Lubrense coast line with its incredible view of Capri Island. The tour ends in Sorrento for Italy’s famous GELATO. Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 04: Sorrento to Positano Private Tranfer | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver and guide at the lobby and transfer to your Hotel in Positano. Today leave the Sorrento Peninsula behind and enjoy a drive along one of the most intriguing coastline in the world, The Amalfi Coast. Passing through Santa Agata dei due Golfi, and few other villages, you will reach Positano where you will spend the next 4 nights. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Positano is the coast’s most picturesque and photogenic town; with steeply-stacked houses tumbling down to the sea in a cascade of sun-bleached peach, pink and terracotta colors. No less colorful are its steep streets and steps lined with wisteria-draped hotels, smart restaurants and fashionable boutiques. Overnight in Positano.

Day 05: Amalfi Coast Private Guided Tour | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver and guide at the lobby. Today enjoy a Private Guided Tour of the Amalfi Coast. The small houses all huddling on top of each other, the breathtaking cliffs, the lemon and olive trees, the small beaches, the Saracen watch towers, the narrow roads make of this place a unique place in the world, so precious to be listed in the Unesco World Heritage. In the morning you will visit Amalfi, the town whose name blesses the entire coast. A picturesque interlacing of alleys and stairways overlooks the sea with all its extraordinary colors reflecting the enchanting landscape of Amalfi. Dominated by the majestic Cathedral dedicated to Sant'Andrea (St. Andrew), Amalfi proffers innumerable testimonies of its glorious past as a Maritime Republic. Enjoy lunch in a characteristic Amalfi Coast fish restaurant. In the afternoon you will visit Villa Rufolo in Ravello, with spectacular view over the entire Amalfi Coast. Ravello, an elegant and refined village, dipped in green and characterized by luxurious villas. The heart of Ravello is represented by Piazza Vescovado, framed by the architecture of Palazzo Rufolo and the Cathedral with its magnificent portal and 10-feet-high bell tower. Late afternoon return to Positano for overnight.

Day 06: Day at Leisure or *Optional Tour: Capri Private Guided Tour with Limoncello & Blue Grotto Tour | Breakfast at the Hotel. Today enjoy a Private Guided Tour of Capri. Visit Marina Grande and the village of Anacapri, located 1,800 feet above sea level, where you can take a chairlift to Monte Solaro. Here you will visit Villa San Michele and the Axel Munthe Gardens. Continue to the main town of Capri, where you can visit La Piazzetta, the Gardens of Augustus, Faraglioni, and the distinctive rocks. Included is a visit to a Limoncello shop where you will learn how they make Capri's favorite lemon 'digestivo'. In the afternoon, after lunch in a characteristic Caprese restaurant in Marina Grande, you will visit the marvelous Blue Grotto at the Faraglioni rocks and caves. You will find Capri to be a very exclusive travel destination. Late afternoon return to your Hotel in Positano.

Day 07: Positano - Paestum - Cilento Coast | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver and guide at the lobby and transfer to your Hotel on The Cilento Coast. Today leave the Amalfi Coast passing through Vietri sul Mare, Salerno and few other villages, to reach Paestum Archeological Park. Here you will be joined by your Private Guide. The Greek temples of Paestum are some of the most stunning ancient monuments in Italy. Still standing after 2500 years, they embody the Greek ideals of beauty, rationality, and the sacred. This day trip takes you along the Amalfi Coast and the Bay of Salerno to the low, often flower-filled plain looking out to the sea where the three temples stand. You will have time to explore the vast site consisting also of a Roman town with forum constructed on top of the original Greek settlement. The museum is worth a look for the wonderful Tomb of the Diver, terra cotta clay pots still filled with now-crystallized honey, and other treasures from the site. Lunch in a characteristic local restaurant before continuing to your Hotel. Overnight on the Cilento Coast.

Day 08: Cilento Coast - Padula Monastery & Pertosa Caves | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver and guide at the lobby and transfer to Padula for a guided tour of the Monastery of San Lorenzo. This Monastery was founded in 1306 by Tommaso S. Severino, and it represents the biggest architectonical complex of South of Italy and, through a wise mixing of styles that ranges from Romanesque to Gothic, to Renaissance, to Baroque, to Rococo, gives an inimitable example of magnificence and beauty. Lunch in a characteristic local restaurant before continuing to Pertosa for a Private Guided Tour of the Angels’ Grottoes. These Caves stretch for approximately 2500 metres throughout underground passages, tunnels, and huge caves. They are very famous and characteristic for the beauty of the stalactites and stalagmites conformations, for its caves impressiveness, and because of their uniqueness in all Italy; to visit them it is necessary crossing a little lake, originated by an underground river, by a boat skillfully steered. Late afternoon return to your hotel. Overnight on the Cilento Coast.

Day 09: Day at Leisure or *Optional Tour: Palinuro Caves - Velia Archeological Park | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver and guide at the lobby and transfer to Palinuro is renowned over the entire world for its cherishing grottos enclosed over covering the coast as whole. The grotto of the bones or the blue grotto and many others are very redolent cavities which can only be reached by a boat ride. The private guided visit commence with the Blue grotto, believed to be a truly large cave in which the presence of extravagant blue light in due to the sunlight entering it through the waterfall that eventually fills the cave. The grotto succeeding fit is the Blood Cave which has concretions paving a way to have an image similar to the flowing blood. Instantly followed to it there is the Grotto of Monks further includes the stalagmites and these resembling the appearance of monks performing a prayer. The preceding grottos is the Silver Cave before returning to Palinuro by boat ride. Lunch in a characteristic local restaurant. In the afternoon transfer to Velia Archaeological Site. Velia was originally founded by a Greek community as the colony of “Elea” in 540 BC. With the help of prominent citizens and philosophers Zeno and Parmenides, Velia managed to overcome several attacks including from Poseidonia and the Lucanians. Today, the Velia Archaeological Site contains an array of ancient ruins as well as medieval ones. Visitors can see a series of public buildings and monuments from the Greek and Roman eras including third century BC fortifications, a large fourth century BC arch known as the Pink Gate as well as second century AD Roman baths with mosaics and a theatre. Late afternoon return to your hotel. Overnight on the Cilento Coast.

Day 10: Cilento - Naples Airport | Breakfast at the Hotel. This morning at the appropriate time enjoy a Private Transfer to Naples Airport. Arrivederci! Ciao! Buon Viaggio!
