This morning you will transfer to La Spezia to meet your Guide for a Private Tour of the The Cinque Terre, one of Italy’s most captivating landscapes. Translated as ‘five lands,’ the region is made up of five unique fishing villages that line the Italian Riviera. A combination of easy walks, village visits, train rides and a short boat trip between the atmospheric villages makes this the ideal visit to the Cinque Terre. Your private Guide will share great stories about each charming village, as The Cinque Terre, which until recently were linked only by mule tracks and accessible only by rail or water. An ancient system of footpaths is still the best way to visit the five villages: Monterosso: for many adventurers, the departure point, for the spectacular 12 km hiking trail that runs down the Cinque Terre coast. Vernazza: The village is dominated by the remains of the “castrum” a series of Medieval forts dating back to the XI century, with a cylindrical castle and tower. Corniglia: the only village of the Cinque Terre not in contact with the sea, rising on top of a rock promontory. Its low and wide houses are more like those of the hinterland than to the typical coastal houses, evidence that the traditional vocation of the village has always been more inclined towards the land than the sea. Manarola: hamlet of Riomaggiore, is a town planning jewel, rich as it is in typical tower houses of Genovese style, founded during the XII century. Riomaggiore peeling pastel buildings march down a steep ravine to a tiny harbour – the region's favorite postcard view. In the afternoon you will reach Porto Venere, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its picturesque harbor is lined with brightly colored houses while narrow medieval streets lined with shops lead up the hill from the ancient city gate to the castle. The tip of the promontory holds a picturesque church. Byron's Cave is a rocky area leading to the sea where the poet Byron used to swim. Ferries cruise along the coast each day, offering passengers a chance to have a view of one of the most evocative landscapes of the Mediterranean. In the late afternoon transfer  to your Hotel in Sestri Levante. Overnight in Sestri Levante.

Day 08: Portofino & San Fruttuoso | After breakfast at the Hotel, meet your driver and private Guide in the lobby for a Private Tour of Portofino and San Fruttuoso. The site is dominated by the Abbey of San Fruttuoso, a splendid 8th century monument. Near the abbey you’ll find a church, a tower, a few cottages, and a small beach. Enjoy a swim or some sunbathing. An underwater statue of Christ, known as the Christ of the Depths, stands at the bottom of the bay. Return to Portofino by Boat. Lunch and rest of the afternoon at leisure in Portofino. One of the most popular resort towns on the Italian Riviera, little Portofino has just over 500 permanent residents. But that all changes on summer days when the sun is shining and the yachting set drops anchor in the harbor to wander about. Boutiques, art galleries, cafes and restaurants line the tiny streets. Visit the Church of San Giorgio and take a stroll down to the lighthouse. Late afternoon, transfer back to your Hotel. Overnight in Sestri Levante.

  • Thank you for coordinating such a wonderful trip in Italy. Terence and I learned many things about Italy. The weather was great and we had so much fun. All hotels, staff and guides were superb! We especially appreciated our driver who served us from Venice through our time in Florence, I believe his name was Lorenzo. Again, thank “you” for doing such a great job in planning our vacation.

  • Hope, you are doing well. My wife and I had a great trip to Italy. The place, the people, and the food and wine were out of this world. Warm and kind people including hotel staff, tour guides and drivers went beyond their ways to help us and make this visit very special for us. It was very hard to leave Italy. You, your staff and company did an extraordinary job. You over delivered. Bravo!

  • We have just returned from our trip to Italy since we took a cruise after the program you and I put together. I just wanted to let you know that everything you planned worked out perfectly. Both hotels were excellent and the rooms were fine. All the drivers were on time and got us to our destinations promptly. We were especially glad to have someone meet us at the train station with the tickets in hand and directions to our car in Milan. The best part of the trip was the all day private boat trip in Bellagio with the great restaurant on the private island. So thanks for your help and hopefully we can do it again.
