This off-beaten-track tour begins with a visit of San Leo, Macerate Feltria and Sassocorvaro, all small villages with authentic cathedrals and places where you can see how beautiful the untouched Italy looks like without being affected from the civilization and urbanization. This lovely spirit continues in the following days as well, where you get to explore Pesaro, Urbino, Jesi , Ascoli, San Benedetto del Tronto, Fermo, Recanati and Macerata.
You will find your inner nomad in each of these places and see how special their antique culture and tradition can be. On top of that, you will get a chance to taste the best food and wines of the Le Marche and Umbria regions and visit some of the most harmonic museums in Italy.
Day 01: Bologna Arrival and Private Transfer to Pesaro | Welcome to Italy! Upon arrival at Bologna airport you will be greeted by our Representative who will welcome you and escort out of the Terminal: your private driver will transfer you to your Hotel in Pesaro. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Pesaro.
Day 02: San Leo - Macerata Feltria - Sassocorvaro | Breakfast at the Hotel. Your driver and guide will meet you at the hotel lobby. Departure for San Leo to visit of the Pieve and the Cathedral, one of the most important monument of Romanesque in Romagna style, and the Fortress. Lunch in a restaurant with a menu based on seasonal dishes. In the afternoon transfer to the nearby town of Macerata Feltria and visit of the old town. Continue to Sassocorvaro and guided visit to the Rocca by Francesco di Giorgio Martini and the lovely wooden theater At the end of tour, your driver will take you back to your Hotel. Day 03: Day at Leisure or *Optional Tour: Pesaro - Urbino - Pesaro | Breakfast at the Hotel. Your driver and guide will meet you at the hotel lobby. Departure to the Renaissance city of Urbino, a Unesco World heritage site and guided tour of Palazzo Ducale, Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, the Duomo, Raphael's house, the Oratorio San Giovanni Battista and San Bernardino. Lunch in a characteristic local restaurant. In the afternoon, return to Pesaro for a guided tour of the main monuments: Rocca Costanza (outside only), Palazzo Ducale (outside only), Civic Museum with local ceramic masterpieces, the Rossini's birthplace, the Cathedral. At the end of tour, your driver will take you back to your Hotel. Overnight in Pesaro.
Day 04: Pesaro - Jesi | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver at the lobby and transfer to your Hotel in Jesi. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Jesi.
Day 05: Ascoli Piceno - San Benedetto del Tronto - Fermo | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver and guide at the lobby. This morning enjoy a Private Guided Tour of Ascoli Piceno. Visit the old town: Piazza Arringo, the Cathedral and the Crypt of S. Emidio, the Baptistery, Palazzo dell'Arengo with the access to the Mercatori Hall and the Museum of Quintana. Pass by Piazza del Popolo, the precious sixteenth-century square with a visit to the historic Caffè Meletti, then the “Quartiere Longobardo”, strolling through the typical streets of the city, you reach the Roman bridge. Lunch in a characteristic local restaurant. In the afternoon depart for San Benedetto del Tronto (“Riviera delle Palme”) and time at leisure for a walk along the sea then continue to Fermo for a private guided visit to the old town: Piazza del Popolo, Palazzo dei Priori and Palazzo degli Studi. Visit to the Art Gallery (the beautiful room of the Globe), Roman cisterns, The Historical Theatre and Piazzale del Girifalco. At the end of tour, your driver will take you back to your Hotel. Overnight in Jesi.
Day 06: Day at Leisure or *Optional Tour: Recanati - Macerata | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver and guide at the lobby. This morning enjoy a Private Guided Tour of Recanati old town. Visit the places where Leopardi lived and worked. Then departure for Macerata: time for lunch and then a guided tour of the historical center with Palazzo Buonaccorsi and the Museum of antique carriages, the Civic Tower and the Sferisterio Arena. In the afternoon visit to the beautiful Romanesque Abbey of San Claudio and Santa Maria a Piè di Chienti. External visit to Loreto and its Basilica, dedicated to the Black Virgin Mary. Day 07: Jesi - Assisi | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver at the lobby and transfer to your Hotel Assisi. Rest of the day at Leisure. Overnight in Assisi.
Day 08: Perugia - Assisi | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your driver and ghuide at the lobby for a morning Private Tour of Perugia, the capital city of Umbria. We will see the recently restored 13th century Fontana Maggiore, the Palazzo dei Priori which houses the National Gallery of Umbria and the Collegio del Cambio with its frescoes by Perugino and amble along Perugia's elegant main street, Corso Vannucci. Lunch in a characteristic local restaurant. In the afternoon return to Assisi known throughout the world as the birthplace of Saint Francis. We will take a guided walking tour of the city and see the many important sights, including the spectacular Basilica of Saint Francis with its frescoes by Giotto. Late afternoon return to your Hotel. Overnight in the Umbria countryside.
Day 09: Day at Leisure or *Optional Tour: Citta di Castello - Gubbio | After breakfast at the hotel, meet your driver and guide in the lobby. Today’s journey begins at Città di Castello, one of Umbria's most visited tourist destinations, a place where ancient and contemporary art forms live side by side in perfect harmony. The tour of the town starts with a visit to Palazzo Vitelli and Palazzo Albizzini. Continue on to enjoy a visit to the Duomo Museum, located next to the cathedral. Last, but not least, there is the Pinacoteca Comunale, which occupies a part of the prestigious Palazzo Vitelli alla Cannoniera and contains important renaissance masterpieces by Raffaello and Ghirlandaio. Lunch in a characteristic local restaurant. In the afternoon visit Gubbio, a delightful medieval town, its center brimming with edifices of great historical and architectural importance such as Palazzo dei Consoli, Palazzo Pretorio and Palazzo del Capitolo dei Canonici. Another building worthy of visit is the Palazzo Ducale, now home to an excellent history museum. Late afternoon return to your Hotel. Overnight in Assisi.
Day 10: Assisi - Florence Airport | Breakfast at the Hotel. This morning at the appropriate time enjoy a Private Transfer to Florence Airport. Arrivederci! Ciao! Buon Viaggio!
