Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Reggio Calabria Arrival - Jasmine Riviera| Welcome to Italy! Upon arrival at Reggio Calabria airport please proceed through the Passport Control and collect your luggage inside the customs area. Meet your driver and transfer to The Jasmine Riviera. Rest of the Day at Leisure. Overnight on The Jasmine Riviera.

Day 02: Gerace - Epizephiri | Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning departure for a Private guided tour of the medieval hill town of Gerace. Here you will visit a famous Norman Cathedral considered to be one of the largest in Southern Italy, dated 11th Century A.D. and the church of S. Francis with its wonderful inlaid marble altar. Time for sightseeing on your own through the narrow medieval style streets.. In the afternoon your tour continues for a visit to the archeological ruins of the Greek City Locri Epizephiri VIII - VII Century B.C. (the Temple of Marasà, the Greek -Roman theatre). Overnight on The Jasmine Riviera.

Day 03: Siderno Antica - Gioiosa Ionica - Mammola| Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning Private Guided Tour of Siderno Antica, small ancient village, to see the villagers’ way of life. We will visit private homes and observe an embroidery-making exhibit. Lunch at leisure. Afternoon visit Goiosa Jonica, a typical village with an open-air market offering local produce and then to Mammola, famous for its narrow streets, historic centre and brilliant flower displays. Overnight on The Jasmine Riviera.

Day 04: Jasmine Riviera | Breakfast at the Hotel. Today spend the day on the Jasmine Riviera. This morning depart for the hilltop town of Stillo. Here, visit The Cattolica, a small temple which was first built in the 9th century. It is made in a true Byzantine styled church with a square design in the form of a Greek cross. There are three apses and five small domes. The natural light that floods in inside the building is quite fascinating. Inside the church are several beautiful frescoes which were only discovered in 1927. Lunch will be included before returning to the hotel. Overnight on The Jasmine Riviera.

Day 05: Jasmine Riviera - Tropea Area| Breakfast at the Hotel. Private Transfer to Tropea. Rest of the day at leisure. Tropea is a seaside resort with impressive scenery. This stretch of coastline on the Tyrrhenian Sea is called the Costa degli Dei, the 'Coast of the Gods', and it is hugely admired by those in the know as one of Italy's finest summer holiday destinations. The coastline curves outwards in a large hilly bulge, boasting dramatic cliffs, sunny beaches, and a string of little resorts and campsites. Tropea is the busiest and most attractive of these seaside towns; with a historic centre perched on cliffs above the sea. Overnight in Tropea.

Day 06: Tropea - Reggio Calabria - Scilla - Tropea| Breakfast at the Hotel. This morning enjoy a Private city tour of Reggio Calabria. Here you will visit the National Museum that houses the famous "Bronzes of Riace", two Greek bronze statues dating back to the V century B.C. Free time to shop or enjoy a walk on the promenade overlooking Sicily and the straits of Messina, known as: "The most beautiful kilometer of the Italian peninsula" . We continue to the town of Scilla facing Charybdis (Today called Ganzirri). Admire its Medieval Castle that lies on a dominating position upon the strait of Messina and its picturesque fishermen's district called "Chianalea" where the houses are built right by the water's edge. Late afternoon return to your Hotel in Tropea Area.

Day 07: Tropea - Pizzo - Vibo Valente | Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning departure, driving along the Tyrrhenian Coast to the beautiful & picturesque seaside town of Tropea, which existed at the time of the Roman Empire, developed with the Norman's & more so with the Aragonese. Guided tour of the city centre & cathedral. Lunch and check in at your hotel. The tour continues passing through small beachside towns along the coast before arriving Pizzo Calabro famous for the Castle were Joacchino Murat (brother-in-law of Napoleon) was executed on October 18th,1815. Do not forget to taste the local gelato called "Tartufo"!. Overnight at your hotel in Tropea or surrounding area.

Day 08: Tropea - Reggio Calabria Airport | Breakfast at the Hotel. Arrivederci. Ciao! Enjoy a Private Transfer to Reggio Calabria Airport.

  • We have just returned from our trip to Italy since we took a cruise after the program you and I put together. I just wanted to let you know that everything you planned worked out perfectly. Both hotels were excellent and the rooms were fine. All the drivers were on time and got us to our destinations promptly. We were especially glad to have someone meet us at the train station with the tickets in hand and directions to our car in Milan. The best part of the trip was the all day private boat trip in Bellagio with the great restaurant on the private island. So thanks for your help and hopefully we can do it again.
