Tour Description

Some know it as the best fashion metropolis in the world, and others refer to it as the one-stop destination for the finest art in Italy. Milan is the primary destination of this tour, and there are a lot of things to do and places to visit.

The tour begins on the day two, with a visit to the authentic Artemide Lighting Designers and then the ultimate fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana and their exclusive collections. The fashion tour continues in the Missoni Designer House and the Zagato Headquarters, both iconic Italian brands known for their great combination of fabrics and top quality costumes. Aside from fashion, you will be able to see some of the newest cars by Alfa Romeo and visit the town of Monza where the legendary Formula 1 race happens every year.

Full of impressions after your visit in Milan, we will take you to Lake Como - where nature meets water and where a lot of celebrities and movie stars rest in the summer. The public boat tours then continue in Italy's Lake District and ends with a lunch on the shores of Lake Orta, followed by a visit to the home office of B&B Italia known for their amazing furniture and home accessories.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Milan Arrival | Welcome to Italy!  Upon arrival at Milan airport please proceed through the Passport Control and collect your luggage inside the customs area.  Just outside this area meet your driver who will transfer you to your Hotel in central Milan. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Milan.

Day 02: Artemide Lighting Designers - Dolce & Gabbana| Breakfast at the Hotel. Today's explorations of Italian design begin at the headquarters of Artemide, world-renowned designers of lighting. During an exclusive tour with an Artemide designer, learn about the company’s “Human Light” philosophy, a revolutionary concept that views illumination as a way to improve quality of life. Signature Artemide lamps not only cater to peoples’ practical needs but are works of art found in museums in New York, London, and Rome. Next, visit clothing and accessories designers Dolce & Gabbana and view their exquisite exhibition space, Metropol, formerly a cinema circa 1940s. Sixty-foot arches and a balcony of black glass dramatically accentuate D & G’s fashion shows, which are among some of Milan’s most exquisite. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Milan.

Day 03: Missoni Designer House - Zagato Headquarters | Breakfast at the Hotel. Today's visit will take you to Missoni and Zagato. Founded by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni in 1953, the Missoni label is characterized by its colorful knitwear in a combination of fabrics that incorporate geometric, floral, and striped patterns. With a Missoni guide, tour the Milan showroom and learn how designers riff on everything from classic styles to costume wear to create contemporary eye-turning fashions. From fashion we move to auto design at Zagato, since 1919 creators of some of the world’s most beautiful and stylish racing cars. On a tour of their headquarters, discover how founder Ugo Zagato used his background in aeronautics to design light-bodied, aerodynamic racing machines. See some of Zagato’s dazzling designs and learn about the birth of such models as Lancia Flaminia Sports and Flavias, the Alpha Romeo Giulia TZ, and the Maserati Spider. Rest of the day at leisure. Day 04: Town of Monza - Boffi Headquarters & Showroom | Breakfast at the Hotel. This morning visit the Boffi headquarters just outside Monza. Designers of premier kitchens and bathrooms, Boffi transforms living spaces into artistic expressions of function. On a guided tour discover how their approach to design and architecture has evolved since the company's founding in 1934. Stop in the town of Monza to explore Monza Park and the gardens of the Royal Villa. Enjoy a wine tasting before returning to Milan. Back in Milan visit the exquisite Boffi showroom, designed by Piero Lissoni, makes use of a beautifully restored building in Milan's historic Brera Quarter. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Milan.

Day 05: Triennale Design Museum, Duomo, La Scala Opera House | Breakfast at the Hotel. In today's Private Tour you will discover Milan Historic and Sopping area. Milan’s Triennale Design Museum captures the essence of Italian made, with exhibits on architecture, urban design, media arts, music, and more. Your guide discusses the most significant objects of Italian design and the artists who created them. On an afternoon walking tour explore some of Milan’s architectural gems, with stops at the gothic Duomo, the classical Scala Opera House, and the Quadrilatero District, home to boutiques of Italy’s major fashion houses. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Milan.

Day 06: Milan - Lake Como | Breakfast at the Hotel. Today enjoy a private transfer to your Hotel on Lake Como. Rest of the day at leisure to relax and enjoy the fascinating atmosphere of those wonderful places: by public boat you can reach Tremezzo, where we you suggest you the visit Villa Carlotta in Lenno, a small hidden village with breathtaking panorama. Overnight on Lake Como.

Day 07: Italy’s Lake District - Alessi B&B Italia | Breakfast at the Hotel. Today you will visit Italy’s Lake District, positioned in the shadow of the magnificent Italian Alps, perhaps lending natural inspiration to the region’s designers. At the headquarters of Alessi, visit the market leaders in innovative kitchen utensils. Learn how the company expanded from creating their own designs in the 1930s to enlisting such notables as Philippe Starke and Michael Graves to blend art with functionality under the Alessi label.  Following lunch on the shores of Lake Orta, head to Como to the home office of B&B Italia, supreme designers of contemporary furniture and home accessories. The building itself was designed by Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano. View their latest creations and discover how their research and development center collaborates with international designers to create distinctive furnishings. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight on Lake Como.

  • We have just returned from our trip to Italy since we took a cruise after the program you and I put together. I just wanted to let you know that everything you planned worked out perfectly. Both hotels were excellent and the rooms were fine. All the drivers were on time and got us to our destinations promptly. We were especially glad to have someone meet us at the train station with the tickets in hand and directions to our car in Milan. The best part of the trip was the all day private boat trip in Bellagio with the great restaurant on the private island. So thanks for your help and hopefully we can do it again.
