Tour Description

Every year in February, the Venetian Festival known as the Venice Carnival kicks in. From theme-based shows on water to luxurious outfits, decorated boats and amazing fine dishes - Venice blossoms during the Carnival, as a celebration that marks the history and tradition of the city on water and celebrates the love for food and wine.

The tour begins and ends in Venice, where you are transferred to an exclusive hotel in Central Venice. The Venetian Carnival experience begins on the second day with the Bacari tour and the amazing wine bars, fresh dishes and the charm of the vibrant Venice in February. The rest of the tour includes a visit on some of the best monuments and sights in Venice as well as the most luxurious palaces that are only accessible on water.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Venice Arrival | Upon arrival at Venice Airport you will be met and greeted by our English Speaking Representative. Private transfer to your Hotel in Central Venice. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel in Venice.

Day 02: Venice Arrival | Breakfast at the Hotel. Spend the morning at leisure. In the afternoon you will meet with our expert guide-sommeliers for a “ Bacari tour “, they will introduce you the hidden Venice by this food & wine experience. The Bacari, the local down-to-earth version of wine bars, serve tapas like “cicheti”, traditionally washed down with a glass of wine, and Venetians stop to snack and socialize before and after meals. They are called “Bacari” in honour to Bacchus, the God of Wine.... We’ll drink wine and eat “cicheti“, cheese, seafood or cold cut appetizers freshly made during the day. Wandering from place to place we shall learn more about the people of the old Venice and the lifestyle of a community of pedestrians! Late afternoon return to hotel and rest. Welcome Dinner with drinks included. Overnight at the hotel in Venice.

Day 03: Venice | Morning: Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning enjoy a customized visit of the  most  spectacular  monuments  and  sights  of  Venice,  including  the  Doge’s Palace, the Jails, the Bridge of the Sighs, Saint Mark square and Basilica. Our guide will pick you up at the hotel and you will reach the Ducal Palace, once the Residence of the Doge of Venice, and the supreme authority of the “Serenissima” Republic. Visit the Ducal apartments decorated with frescoes by Tintoretto and Veronese, the Senate and the jails connected to the Palace through the bridge of the Sighs. You will continue the tour with the main church of the city, the Basilica of St. Mark. Cathedral it is famous to be one of the best examples of Byzantine architecture with its beautiful mosaics. Enjoy a gondola tour of Venice, where you will visit parts of the city that are only accessible by this means of transport. As you glide silently along these inviting waterways,  you  will  be transported back in time to when the main means of transportation for Venetian nobility were these vessels. Lunch at a characteristic Venetian Restaurant beverages included. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner at a characteristic Venetian Restaurant beverages included. Overnight in Venice.

DAY 04: Venice | Morning: This morning we will meet our guide at the hotel and we will explore the fascinating world of to  the  exclusive Venetian Mask and Costumes Atelier  and  will  show  you  how  the  most  famous traditional  products  are  created.  Over  the  centuries Venice has provided superior quality handmade products that  were  exported  all  over  the  world  for  the  use  of  the privileged  few.  Today  the  simple  word  “Venice”  still conjures  up  an  atmosphere  of  sensuous  luxury, sophisticated  elegance  and  a  myriad  of  a  joyful  tactile and  visual  sensations.  Far  from  the  beaten  tracks,  you will discover and make tours the “pearls” of Venice's top handcraft  tradition:  velvets,  brocades,  perfumes,   Carnival masks,  gold  and  silver  jewelry,  beads  and  other wonders. You will visit first the Luigi Bevilacqua atelier, the top quality luxury Venetian manufacturer of brocades, damasks, satins, trimmings velvets, lampasses, hand-woven velvets. Then you will visit the brand new Museum open in Venice at Palazzo Mocenigo “ Between fashion and fragrances “ the first  Museum in Italy dedicated to perfumes .Along the new Museum itinerary, visitors can rediscover the atmosphere of the original 18th-century environment and have and have a comprehensive framework of the habits and customs of that period, thanks to exhibition spaces dedicated to the most important nucleus of textiles , clothing and accessories of the 18th-century, conserved in the Center for Studies of the History of Textiles and Costume of Palazzo Mocenigo. Inside the new  path an unprecedented musicological proposal dedicated entirely to the history of Perfume and Essences  Early afternoon back to hotel and free time. Lunch at a characteristic Venetian Restaurant beverages included. Evening: Venetian Mask Gala dinner at Palazzo Pisani Moretta. Transfers by private water taxi to and from the Hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Venice.

Day 05: Venice Departure | After breakfast at the Hotel enjoy a Private Transfer to Venice Airport.

  • We have just returned from our trip to Italy since we took a cruise after the program you and I put together. I just wanted to let you know that everything you planned worked out perfectly. Both hotels were excellent and the rooms were fine. All the drivers were on time and got us to our destinations promptly. We were especially glad to have someone meet us at the train station with the tickets in hand and directions to our car in Milan. The best part of the trip was the all day private boat trip in Bellagio with the great restaurant on the private island. So thanks for your help and hopefully we can do it again.
