The Tuscan food and wine have always been a myth - mostly because of their unbelievable charm and taste. This tour lets you live the myth and see some of the most famous wine estates looking for the most delicate wines and the secrets of the Italian cuisine.
Your amazing Tuscan tour starts with the arrival in Florence, where you will be attending a morning market visit with your chef and a cooking lesson that teaches you how to prepare a traditional Tuscan lunch. You can then take a stroll through Florence and explore the beauty of the city, its splendid architecture and hidden small squares.
After Florence, your driver will transfer you to San Gimignano, Siena and Chianti, all of which medieval towns with amazing history and food scene. Olive collecting, oil pressing and cheese tasting are all a part of this tour, followed by another tour focused on wine in the Montalcino and Montepulciano regions.
Day 01: Florence Arrival | Welcome to Italy! Upon arrival at Florence airport please proceed through the Passport Control and collect your luggage inside the customs area. Just outside this area meet your driver who will transfer you to your Hotel in central Florence. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Florence.
Day 02: Florence Cooking Lesson & Private Tour| Breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning market visit with the chef and cooking lesson, lunch will follow. In the afternoon your local Florentine guide will meet at the hotel and will lead you on a unique walking tour discovering secret spots of Florence, taking in unusual corners and hidden small squares. Florence's rich past as the cultural centre of the Italian Renaissance can still be seen today in the wealth of art gathered here and in the preservation of its splendid architecture. The tour includes visits of the Duomo and the Baptistery, the Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, and the famous Accademia Gallery (entrance fee included). Overnight in Florence.
Day 03: Florence - Gastronomic tour | Breakfast at the Hotel. In the morning you will have a gastronomic tour with your chef, you will visit the best gastronomic shops, in the historic centre where you will taste Prosciutto, Tuscan cured meats and Parmigiano Reggiano, then you will visit the best cheese shop where you will taste best Italian cheeses (sheep, goat and cow). Then onto a superb artisan chocolate shop, the owner and master buys the best cocoa beans and produces his own excellent chocolate. Your next stop will be at one of the most historic delicatessens in the city, which still represents a classic meeting place for Florentines as well as the preferred destination for lovers of specialties made with truffles. You will taste the famous sandwich with truffle paste. Your afternoon gastronomic tour will end at an well known, historic Enoteca (wine shop) where you will have a wine and olive oil tasting. Time at leisure in the afternoon. Overnight in Florence.
Day 04: Florence - San Gimignano - Siena - Chianti Castle Hotel | After breakfast at the hotel, meet the driver in the lobby for a Private Tour of the Tuscany countryside, on route to your Castel Hotel in Tuscany. First visit San Gimignano, a splendid example of medieval town declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. San Gimignano will leave you astonished by its beauty. Enjoy a light lunch and a wine tasting before continuing to Siena to meet your Guide for a private tour of Italy's loveliest medieval city. Siena's heart is Il Campo or Campo's square, where the famous horse race Il Palio, that takes place two times each summer. The town offer magnificent masterpieces and incredible views. In the afternoon transfer to your Hotel. Overnight at your Castle Hotel in Chianti.
Day 05: Oil cheese and wine in Impruneta and Chianti. | After breakfast at the hotel, meet the driver in the lobby for a Private Tour of the Tuscany countryside, on route to your Hotel in Tuscany. This excursion begins in the heart of the Tuscan oil kingdom - the hills around Impruneta, were we'll visit the Torrerossa oil farm. Here the olives are still collected by hand with the help of wood ladders leaning against the olive branches. Torrerossa still owns an old oil press, the oil is stored in antique enormous terracotta jars manufactured in Impruneta. On San Casciano hills, in the Chianti DOCG production area, we found the Corzano e Paterno winery and cheese farm, specialized in the production of cheeses with traditional methods, using the milk from the farm's sheep. You will also taste their excellent wines. Late afternoon continue to your hotel in the Tuscan Countryside. In the afternoon transfer to your Hotel. Overnight at your Hotel in Chianti.
Day 06: Maremma Wines | Breakfast at the Hotel. Today you will travel to the mythical Maremma Wine Region, your driver-guide takes you through the Orcia Valley into the wild Maremma region. For wine lovers, it is the home of some of the biggest wine names in the world such as Ornellaia (Castagneto Carducci - Bolgheri) and Sassicaia (Super Tuscans wines), here the wineries make some of the world's best (and most expensive) wines. You will stop on the way and enjoy superb wine tasting at the excellent cellar Petra (in Suvereto). Light lunch at the wine cellar based on bruschette, pecorino cheese, home made pasta and wine. In the afternoon you will visit Ornellaia winery, one of the best cellar in Italy. Late afternoon return to your hotel Castle in the Chianti countryside.
Day 07: Montalcino and Montepulciano | Breakfast at the Hotel. Today, you will taste some of the most famous Italian wines: Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Your private driver-guide will pick you up from the hotel and drive you first to Montalcino. This ancient village is best known for its red Brunello di Montalcino wines, made with Sangiovese Grosso grapes. You will have a private visit to a Brunello producer such as the prestigious Poggio Antico Estate. On the way to the winery, you can stop for a quick visit of the stunning ruins of the 9th century Abbazia di Sant'Antimo. At the winery you will tour the cellars, the vineyards and take in the gorgeous views and taste Brunello "Riserva" and also Rosso di Montalcino. Lunch will be in the winery's restaurant. After the lunch, carry on to Montepulciano, a small village of Etruscan origin and one of the most beautiful hill towns in Tuscany. The Nobile wines of Montepulciano, were the first to be given the ultimate quality level of DOCG certification. You'll visit a top estate such as Valdipiatta or Avignonesi and enjoy a tasting of Vino Nobile wines. Late afternoon, enjoy free time on your own in Montepulciano and transfer back to your Hotel. Overnight in Chianti.
Day 08: Siena - Florence Airport | After breakfast at the hotel enjoy a Private Transfer from Siena to Florence Airport.
