Day 01: Cagliari Arrival | Upon arrival at Cagliari Airport collect your luggage inside the customs area. Just outside this area meet your assistant and driver who will transfer you to your Hotel in Cagliari. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Cagliari.
Day 02: Cagliari Private Guided Tour | Enjoy a full buffet breakfast at your hotel. Meet your Driver and Guide at your hotel. Overlooking the Golfo Degli Angeli, Cagliari is an ancient city founded by Phoenician traders. The town, which has preserved soaring towers and sections of the massive curtain walls which once encircled its medieval Castello District. Here you will visit the ancient Cathedral of Santa Maria and the Basilica of Bonaria. Your morning tour includes a visit to Tuvixeddu Phoenician Necropolis, the largest and most important in the Mediterranean. After lunch in a local restaurant, continue to Piazza Matteotti, and Via Roma for a Walking Tour of the Cagliari Historical Center. Finally, visit the National Archaeological Museum, the most important and prestigious exhibition ground of ancient finds in Sardinia. More than 4000 finds tell about a story dating as far back as 7000 years ago, from Prehistory until the High Middle Ages. In the late afternoon return to your hotel. Overnight in Cagliari.
Day 03: Cagliari → The Nuraghe Barumini Private Guided Tour → Oristano | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your Driver in the lobby. This morning, on Route to your Hotel in Oristano, stop in Barumini for Lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, you will meet your Guide for a Private Tour of the most famous Sardinian Archaeological site, the Nuraghe of Barumini, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Nuraghe is the symbol of Sardinia and was built during the II Millennium BC. The Nuraghe of Barumini is composed of a Central Tower, initially nearly 20 meters high. This tower is surrounded by a fortified court and by four side towers. The passage inside the monument is emotional and adventurous since you pass through the walls and the ancient corridors! After the third circle of Towers, the fortification is surrounded by the village, composed of circular houses built during at least ten centuries ago! Afterward, you move to the Noble House of Casa Zapata, dating from the Spanish Period, made into a museum. In the afternoon continue to your hotel in Oristano. Overnight in Oristano.
Day 04: Oristano Private Guided Tour| Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your Guide in the lobby. This morning you will visit Oristano Historic Center, dating back to the 11th century, and characterized by the hulking San Cristoforo Tower. Visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, a rare example of Gothic Architecture. Continue to the small Church of Santa Chiara, hidden among the city’s alleys. one of the most famous squares in the town, Visit Piazza Eleonora d’Arborea, where there are several important and religious buildings. Around Statue of the Giudicessa, you can admire the Church of San Francesco d’Assisi, Palazzo Corrias Carta. On the corner of Corso Umberto I, you will find Palazzo Degli Scolopi. In the late morning, your Guide will escort back to your Hotel. Lunch and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Oristano.
Day 05: Oristano → Bosa Private Guided Tour → Alghero | Enjoy a full buffet breakfast at your hotel. Meet your Driver at your hotel. On Route to your Hotel in Alghero stop in Bosa to meet your Guide for a Private Tour. You will explore the historic center and its monuments. You will discover the city’s ancient treasures, immersed in a rich history with its origins from the Phoenicians until the Middle Ages. Admire the Malaspina Castle and the Cathedral, containing the paintings by Emilio Scherer and other essential works of art. Walk along Corso Vittorio Emanuele (“Sa Piatta”), between the beautiful palaces of the nineteenth century. Explore the Medieval route of Sa Costa and admire the typical houses perched along the hill of Serravalle. After lunch Lunch in a typical restaurant continue to your hotel in Alghero, Rest of the day at leisure. Alghero is a beautiful town, situated on the Coral Riviera, so-called for the abundance in its refined quality red coral. Overnight in Alghero.
Day 06: Alghero Private Guided Tour and Food and Wine at Sella and Mosca Wine Estate | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your Guide at the Hotel lobby. Wander around the ancient palaces, fortified walls, and towers. used to protect the city from attacks and built under the Catalan-Aragonese domination. Walk to Plàia Civica, a medieval square; admire the famous Duke of Abis Palace, and St. Maria Cathedral, built-in Catalan-Gothic style, with later additions during the Renaissance. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon you will enjoy a fantastic Visit and Wine Tasting at Sella and Mosca Wine Estate. The modern winery sits adjacent to the old winery buildings which are still in use. There are hundreds of gleaming stainless steel and cement tanks, and old wooden casks. There’s plenty of tradition here, but also experimentation and innovation using computer control. Despite their size, the wines of Sella & Mosca range from excellent to outstanding. Your Visit is 2 hours long and includes four of their best wines. In the late afternoon, you will return to your Hotel. Overnight in Alghero.
Day 07: Porto Torres, San Gavino Basilic, Monte d’Accoddi, Saccargia Basilic | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your Driver and Guide at the Hotel lobby. Today enjoy a private guided tour of Porto Torres, a very important town during the Roman Empire. You visit the beautiful Basilica of San Gavino, one of the most ancient and elegant Romanesque Churches of the Island. Its columns and the vast central nave offer a sensation of silence and ancient devotion. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you continue to the Ziggurat of Monte d’Accoddi, a unique monument in the whole of Europe; It has been variously described as an Altar, a Mound, a Temple, or a step Pyramid. It is a megalithic Altar shaped as a Mesopotamic Ziggurath, a sign of Sardinia’s deep connection to the Middle East. Thi religious building was erected on a pre-existing temple, built between 3200-2800 BC. Near the altar, there is the “Sorcerer’s Hut,” a room that probably had a ritual function. You will continue toward Codrongianos to visit The Basilica Della Santissima Trinità di Saccargia, the most important Romanesque site on the Island. The church was built in the Middle Age entirely in black basalt and white limestone. In the afternoon you will return to your Hotel. Overnight in Alghero.
Day 08: Alghero → Castelsardo and Coddu Vecchju Private Guided Tour → Olbia | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your Driver in the lobby. This morning, on Route to your Hotel in Olbia, you will travel the Coastal Panoramic Road to reach Castelsardo to meet your Private Guide. This old middle age settlement combines the beauty of a crystal see with the romanticism of the location. You will visit the famous Castello Dei Doria, a beautiful and ancient building from the eleventh century. Inside the Castle, you will find Museo dell’ Intreccio. Another place of interest is the Concattedrale, a church famous for its majolicas bell tower. Inside St. Maria’s Basilica, you find the famous Cristo Nero (Black Christ), made in wood. Lunch in a typical restaurant with a panorama of the Gulf. After lunch, you will continue to Arzachena, to meet your Private Guide for a tour of the magnificent prehistoric Tomb of Coddu Vecchiu. This Necropolis date back from the Neolithic age (IV-III Millennium BC) when people were still living in temporary houses and wooden huts. The tombs are shaped as megalithic circles, where a ring of stones and menhirs surrounds the central vault. This collective tomb is typical of the Nuragic Civilization and boasts a stunning semi-circular exedra protecting the central monolithic stele and the gallery tomb. It is believed that the Giant’s Tombs are Bulwarks accumulators of energies. In the afternoon continue to your hotel in Olbia. Overnight in Olbia.
Day 09: La Maddalena and Caprera Island Private Guided Tour | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your Driver and Guide at the Hotel lobby. Transfer to Palau, founded in 1770, in the area that was once a fishing village. From here board a ferry boat to La Maddalena Island. Maddalena is a tidy and sunny little town that attracts a significant number of visitors every year. The inhabited center develops around Piazza Garibaldi, animated by Cafés, buildings, and the Town Hall. Following the panoramic road, you pass through unforgettable scenic areas, which combine the sea’s azure-blue color with the green of the hinterland’s Mediterranean vegetation. The Island boasts wonderful and unspoiled beaches and the panoramas on the sea-facing French Corsica. After lunch in a typical restaurant, visit the Island of Caprera, the last retreat of Giuseppe Garibaldi. There are very few places of attraction around this small island of Caprera. You will visit the White House of Garibaldi. It is believed that Garibaldi settled down in Caprera during 1856 and built his house. In the afternoon you will return by ferryboat to Palau, where you will transfer back to your Hotel. Overnight in Olbia.
Day 10: Porto Cervo and Emerald Coast | Breakfast at the Hotel. Meet your Driver/Guide in the lobby. Today you’ll enjoy an independent tour of the Emerald Coast and Porto Cervo, the summer capital of luxury and International Jet Set! Wander around Porto Cervo Marina, with its villas and hotels, beautiful masterpieces of Modern Architecture. From Piazzetta Delle Chiacchiere to the Sottopiazza there is a series of alleys, windows, balconies, built-in typical Costa Smeralda style, as well as shops and boutiques selling prestigious designer items. Remember to take a look at the splendid Stella Maris Church. After lunch at leisure, your Driver/Guide will take you to some breath-taking spots on the Emerald Coast. The white sand of the Grande Pevero is lapped by the turquoise, blue, and green reflections of the sea, flanked by granite rocks shaped by time. A few kilometers further south are other wonders: the Romazzino and the Principe Beach. On the opposite end of the ‘Emerald’ Promontory”, you will find delightful coves, including Cala di Volpe and Liscia Ruja. The panorama is enhanced by the Islands of Soffi and Delle Camere.
