Sicily Motorcycle

Day 01: PALERMO | Arrival at Palermo airport. Welcome to our beautiful island. Meet your Tour Escort and transfer to your hotel in Palermo. Dinner and overnight in hotel in Gangi.

Day 02: PALERMO – ISNELLO – COLLESANO – GANGI – 133 kms | Enjoy a full buffet breakfast at your hotel. This morning in the company of your Tour Escort, you will pick up your preferred Motorcycle. Depart on the State road through the Northern coast. Then nearby Cefalù, start climbing to Isnello, Collesano and Petralia in the Madonie Natural Reserve. It includes the Madonie mountain range and some of the highest mountains in Sicily. The park has six mountains that are over 1,500 meters (4,900 ft) and many more that are over 1,000 meters (3,300 ft). The highest is Pizzo Carbonara at 1,979 meters (6,493 ft), second in height only to Mount Etna. As well as being a nature reserve, the park is an inhabited area with dozens of little villages and small towns many of which trace their origins to medieval times. The park is also home to a number of castles and numerous ancient churches. Lunch at a local restaurant in Petralia. Continue to Gangi. Gangi’s origins have been connected to the ancient Greek city of Engyon, or Hebrita, but this theory remains unconfirmed. Traces of Roman presence are instead testified by archaeological excavations under the Abbey of Gangivecchio. Later, after the unification of Italy, Gangi was the centre of fierce suppression of brigands who lived in the area. In 1926 it was the location of one of the hardest repression of mafia in Italy, carried out by the local prefect Cesare Mori. Dinner and overnight in hotel in Gangi.

Day 03: GANGI – SAN FRATELLO – LINGUAGLOSSA – ACI – 224 kms | Enjoy a full buffet breakfast at your hotel. Depart through the State Road SS113 to Geraci, Castelbuono and arrive in San Fratello in the Nebrodi Mountains. The mountains run from the Peloritani on the eastern part of the island to the foothill of the Madonie mountains to the west, facing the Tyrrhenian Sea on the north. Mount Etna, from which it is separated by the rivers Alcantara and Simeto, forms the range’s southern border. The highest peak is the Monte Soro (1,817 m). The range mostly made up of sandstone and clay rocks, but include also limestone landscapes, like the Rocche del Crasto. Continue to the Rifugio Brunek through the famous Brunek climbing. Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Aci Castello. Dinner and overnight in hotel in Aci Castello.

Day 4: ACI – CALTAGIRONE – GELA – COMISO – RAGUSA – 170 kms | Enjoy a full buffet breakfast at your hotel. Depart through National roads to Caltagirone. Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Gela on the Southern coast and then back to Comiso and Ragusa. The origins of Ragusa can be traced back to the 2nd millennium BC, when in its area there were several settlements of the ancient Sicels. The current Ragusa Ibla lies probably on one of them, identified as Hybla Heraea. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Ragusa.

Day 05: RAGUSA – PIAZZA ARMERINA – ENNA – PALERMO – 240 kms | Enjoy a full buffet breakfast at your hotel. Depart to Palermo Crossing the Island diagonally. Lunch at a local restaurant in Enna. Once in Palermo we will drop off the Motorcycle, followed by a early evening of relaxation. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Ragusa.

Day 06: PALERMO DEPARTURE | Enjoy a full buffet breakfast at your hotel. Depart to Palermo airport. End of our services. Arrivederci Sicilia!
